When choosing hotels in vravrona the visitor decides to stay at one of the most ancient and full of history area of Attica. Vravrona was one of the twelve prehistoric cities of Attica before their settlement. Traces of installation from all phases of the Bronze Age have been found in its citadel, while Mycenaean chambered tombs have been excavated on the eastern slopes of the hill. The sanctuary of Artemis seems to have been founded in the Geometric period (9th or 8th century BC). Many hotels in vravrona are located near the particular sanctuary. Actually, it played a very important role in the lives of women, as, for the happy outcome of the birth, the consolation of the virgin Artemis was considered necessary. The cult was old with many primitive elements. Most of the hotels in vravrona offer to their clients full services of touring around or providing guides and extra information.
It is rather interesting that, according to a version in the work of Euripides, Iphigenia was the first priestess of the goddess and was even buried in the sanctuary.Women who had a good birth offered their clothes to the goddess, while the clothes of those who died in childbirth were dedicated to Iphigenia. Many lists of these votive offerings were found in the sanctuary, as well as many statuettes of little boys and girls. The sanctuary also served for a year girls 7-10 years old from Athens, who during their term of office were called "bears".
